We were set the challenge of coming up with not only the brand identity for Vegology but a brand new website to match. A 100% vegan and vegetarian restaurant with a casual and friendly atmosphere.
Friendly and approachable
After meeting in person and also getting to try the amazing food ourselves!... We knew feeling approachable and accessible by all customers was really important to Vegology. There was no other restaurant in the local area doing something similar and by being slightly unique to the community they wanted to make sure they were the place to go to for workers nearby and passers by! A theme of blue and yellow was requested. After creating many different versions of the logo we opted for a simplistic but bold font with a ‘V’ logomark. The end result was applicable in many ways from food packaging to menus and even the glowing store front which stands out amongst its neighbours.
After nailing down the brand we got to work on the site.
Vegology had a wide range of content to be used so we knew we had to incorporate this into the site throughout. Carrying on the branding themes throughout the site we were able to create consistency from the online experience to the restaurant experience. We also took the time to update some graphics on the screen such as the map on the about us page and create a pattern which we could use to give the background a different visual in areas.
The results
We really enjoyed working on this project. We successfully brought to life visually the owners vision for Vegology which still works well to this day. The site which was once basic with outdated features and functionality now integrates well with the Vegology brand holistically. We managed to include a wide variety of content including videos used for backgrounds and reviews, and imagery alongside gentle animation to bring the site to life even more.
